Whiteface Mountain is located in the village of Wilmington near Lake Placid in upstate New York in the United States. Whiteface Mountain is the sixth highest mountain in upstate New York and one of the peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. Whiteface Mountain was the scene of the downhill ski events of the Olympic Games in 1980 in Lake Placid.

The Whiteface ski area has a total of 314 acres (127 hectares) in size. The 85 runs extend over several mountain ridges and peaks and are suitable for both beginners and advanced. The longest slope, the Wilmington Trail is nearly 3.4 km long (2.1 miles) and is an absolute must. Whiteface offers advanced skiers a huge number doubled steep black diamond runs.
