Ski holidays in Steamboat
Steamboat ski area is located in the Routt National Forest in Colorado in the United States. Steamboat ski resort is located on and around the mountain village of Mount Werner in Steamboat Springs. Steamboat Springs is an old rancher's village, where much of the old-fashioned charm has been kept intact. For families with children it's also a very nice destination. Thanks to the kids ski free program, children between 6-12 years old receive a free ski pass if their parents buy one for themselves.

The ski slopes of Steamboat are located on Mount Werner and additionally also on Sunshine Peak, Thunder Head Peak, Storm Peak, Christie Peak and Pioneer Ridge. The ski area is known for its beautiful champagne-like powdersnow, which both on and off-piste provides beautiful descents. Experts will find the most challenging runs at the top of the Storm Peak Express and Sundown ski lifts.
Snowboarding Steamboat
There are two fun parks in Steamboat, and a huge Super Pipe (the so-called Maverick, known across North America). Steamboat's terrain park contains a large number of modules, boxes and rails and also has an outdoor speaker system so you have music in the funpark. Maverick, the super pipe next to this terrain park is 150 meters long, 17 meters wide, has walls of 5.5 meters and a radius of almost 7 meters! For beginners there is the Mini-Mav, a smaller version where you can learn how to snowboard in a half pipe step by step.
Skischools Steamboat
Steamboat's Ski & Snowboard School claims that they have educated far more Olympic champions than any village anywhere in the world. Whether you are just starting with skiing or snowboarding or are already quite advanced, they help you improve. For the absolute experts, there is the Billy Kidd Performance Center, a race training school where the former Olympic champion Billy Kidd teaches himself.
