The ski resort Zermatt in Valais encompasses the village of the same name, Zermatt. The resort lies at the foot of the famous Matterhorn, one of the highest mountains in Europe. Most of the ski area is also accessible from the Matterhorn Ski Paradise area. Other worthwhile areas include the Sunnega-Rothorn, Gornergrat?Stockhorn, and Schwarzsee-Klein Matterhorn. If the line for the valley station of Gornergrat is too long, take the ski lift at Sunegga that will take you up immediately!
