Ski resort Val d'Herens is situated in Wallis and located in a valley parallel to the Rhônevalley near the famous city Sion. The valley is full of history, starting with the menhirs' (stone pyramids) at Euseigne, you encounter when you are moving from Sion in the valley. This village also offers access to the adjacent Val d'Hérémence, where the Grande Dixence dam can be found, by far the highest Dam across Europe. In Val d'Hérémence you can access the immense ski resort Les Quatre Vallées. Ski holiday destinations in Val d'Herens are Arolla, Nax, Gauthier and Evolène. The village of Arolla is a feast for the eye! Beautiful old streets, bars and restaurants and the accommodations do justice to the beautiful appearance of the village. The ski resort of Val d'Herens is basically divided into two main sections; Arolla and Evolène. The ski resort of Arolla is particularly popular with skiing families and has a large number of blue and red ski runs, so the novice skiers feel right at home here! The ski slopes at Evolène include challenging runs with a few kilometers of black runs and mostly red descents.

Snowboarding Val d'Herens

Snowboarders enjoy Evolène especially. Despite the fact that there is no snowpark, the powder snow that falls in the season is a huge attraction.

The ski school, Arolla (Ecole de Ski Suisse d'Arolla) has a lot to offer, ranging from skiing, or snowboard, to off-piste tours, to Heliski, or parachuting with your board! There is a ski school in Evolene, the Ecole de Ski Suisse d'Evolène-Les Haudères and the nearby village Froclaz has its own ski school: the Ecole de Ski Suisse de la Forclaz.
