Ski holidays in Engelberg
The ski resort Engelberg is situated in central Switzerland, between 1,000 and 3,000 meters in altitude. The ski area is divided into two portions, Titlis-Joch Pass (with the Gerschnialp) and Brunni (the sunny part of the Schonegg). The village Engelberg is in the center of the area, and is a very popular weekend destination for the Swiss themselves. Often, locals from nearby Lucerne and Zurich spend a few days skiing on Saturday or Sunday, meaning ski holidays during the week are quiet. This is a beautiful destination for winter sports enthusiasts, especially the advanced! Engelberg has a religious and classical history, but today it is one of the most modern ski resorts in Switzerland. It is an absolute world-class ski resort! The monastery in the center is an impressive and imposing building. Beyond the slopes, there is plenty to do in Engelberg. It is not really described as a party town, but it is certainly a vibrant village. There are plenty of dining and entertainment venues.
