The ski holiday village Champoussin lies in the Valais region in the Swiss part of the Portes du Soleil ski area. Champoussin is accessible from the Rhônedal through Monthey and Val d'Illiez. It is a small and charming ski holiday destination. The ski village consists of a number of chalets surrounded by beautiful mountains with rugged slopes. International entrepreneurs have had much hand in building tourism in this village. You still find many Dutch, English and Belgian staff.

Plaine Dranse, containing perhaps the most beautiful slopes of the area, starting from Avoriaz, is easily accessible. This valley has plenty to offer for skiers and snowboarders of every skill level. Beginners often gravitate to the area around Le Pleney, directly accessible by ski-tram or cabin lift. One of the most challenging slopes can be found around the famous Col de Joux Plane where beautiful, long, black runs go all the way down into the valley. In the Swiss part is the very challenging Mur at Chavanette (towards Avoriaz.)
