Ski holidays in Andermatt

The ski resort Andermatt is located in the Urserntal, part of the Gotthard region in Central Switzerland. Besides Andermatt, the (even quieter!) villages Realp and Hospental are also part of this ski resort. As one of the first places where skiing was possible in Switzerland, this area has a rich history. Because the big ski resorts in Wallis (for example, Portes du Soleil) attract winter sports enthusiasts away from areas like Andermatt nowadays, this village has kept most of its old-fashioned charm. Usually, staying in one of the chalets, you really enjoy the beautiful Swiss landscape. Despite this serene calm, the area adjacent to the skiing also has great facilities, mainly because of the nearby military bases.

Because of its relatively quiet surroundings and not too many ski slopes in this wide-stretched valley, the ski resort of Andermatt has grown into a true off-piste paradise. Arrange a guide and ski past the natural mogul slopes off to the south-side of the pistes. Tour skiers often see this ski area as an ideal starting point. For those who like variety, it is also possible to go skiing for a day in the nearby ski resort of Disentis / Sedrun, the Grindelwald slopes, or at the small ski resort of Engelberg!

Snowboarding Andermatt

For snowboarders, there is a separate ski school, which you can learn the tricks as a beginner in the fun park on a variety of modules. Snowboarders can also enjoy off-piste, however, that forms the largest parts of the area.
