Suited to self-catering visitors who are more keen on skiing than nightlife. Good intermediate pistes and the 10Km toboggan run is a hoot if there's enough snow to build the run. Not so good for complete beginners. Fine for snowboarders. Pistes are much less crowded than Verbier and new telecabine reaches summit at Savoleyres in 9 minutes. Reasonable restaurants for those who prefer to eat out, but not a lot of nightlife compared to Verbier. A good base for Verbier at far less cost, but you probably won't venture much further than Siviez. Off-piste is good, especially the Vallon d'Arbi from Lac des Vaux. Altiport at Croix de Coeur takes heli-skiers off to the glaciers. Overall, most people would enjoy being based here given the significantly cheaper cost then Verbier but ability to ski the same slopes.
