Ski holidays in Hemavan

The ski village Hemavan is located in Lapland, Sweden, and forms together with the town of Tärnaby a ski resort in the region Vasterbottens. Tärnaby and Hemavan have 48 runs combined. It is located about 90 minutes from hemavan airport in the heart of the mountains of Lapland. The very snow secure area is between 470 and 1135 meters altitude. Tärnaby is located in a nature reserve three times as big as Luxembourg. The area is especially known as a training site for professional skiers and alpine skiers. It is not for nothing that this ski area has a lot of medal winners. The village itself is very small with only 1000 inhabitants. There are many cozy wooden huts, but also modern hotels where you can stay. You will not find any large and impersonal hotels here.

In Hemavan and Tärnaby there are several nice pubs and restaurants, but you will not find real après-ski here.

Skischools and ski hire in Hemavan

In both Hemavan as well as Tärnaby there is a ski school where different classes can be taken, from private lessons to a few days of group lessons. All instructors speak English.
