Volen has a number of short and simple ski runs especially interesting for a-day trip from Moscow. Do not expect to find any expert style slopes in Volen. It is a popular destination and is challenging enough for a-day trip. Besides Volen's own ski resort, a ski trip to the neighboring Stepanovo is also worth the effort. Stepanovo is particularly attractive because you can find one of the longest ski runs throughout the Moscow region here: a descent of about 1km.
