The Korjakskij ski area is for the real experienced tour skiers and mountaineers. Since there are no ski lifts, you'll have to climb up yourself first, often on expeditions accompanied by guides. Although there are large quantities of snow, the peak of the Korjakskij is not always easily accessible because the sun and warm volcanic surface near the volcano's mouth sometimes makes the summit unreachable. You are always certain to reach an altitude of around 2500 meters to start your run down the ski terrain. The powdery descent after you arrive at the top is more than worth the effort!
