Ski holidays in Narvik

Narvik Ski Resort (Narvikfjellet) is located in the Ofoten region in Norway. The ski resort is located in one of the most northern fjords of Norway, the Fjord Ofoten. From the slopes, the panoramic views are amazing. With the slopes in front of you and water on both your left and right, makes this ski area a unique experience. Because of the high altitude and the dark period from December to February, it is high season in Narvik from March to June. Narvik is very easy to travel to by air, there are several daily flights to this area. There are three airports nearby:- Harstad / Narvik Airport Evenes, which is approximately one hours drive away and has direct flights from Oslo - Framnes Narvik Airport, which is close to Narvik center is about 30 minutes drive and also has a direct connection to Oslo - Finally, it is possible to fly from the Swedish capital Stockholm to Kiruna (Northern Sweden), and to come Narvik by bus. Narvik is also easy to reach by train, with the (Night) Train travel from Stockholm for example taking 16-17 hours.

The ski resort started at Fagernesfjell, and was originally built for local recreation. The last few years, the facilities have been improved a lot, there is a modern cable car and there are snow making machines where necessary. In total there are 6 lifts, 9 groomed slopes and 4 unprepared slopes. The runs of Narvik are perfect for beginners, advanced and experts. Although the number of descents is not that extensive, this is offset by the extensive off-piste opportunities, claiming to have the best offering off-piste in all of scandinavia. The longest ski slope in Narvik is 3200 meters long, with a total drop of just over 900 meters.

There is a small ski school (ski skole) in Narvik. Apart from this, there is a fairytale-like slopes for beginning kids making their first strides on the slopes.
