Treble Cone ski resort is located near the town of Wanaka on South Island in New Zealand. Treble Cone is about 40 minutes drive along Lake Wanaka from central Wanaka. The distance from Christchurch is about 90 minutes. Queenstown lastly, is five hours away. Since 2011 there also is a direct flight connection from Queenstown to Treble Cone (with Glenorchy Air), the plane lands directly on the access road to the ski resort. Wanaka accommodation varies in offering from simple to extreme luxury. For families with children there are some great options and there are some cheaper hostels more suitable for backpackers.

The Treble Cone ski area covers a total of 550 hectares, is by far the biggest ski resort on the South Island of New Zealand. Treble Cone is truly a family resort with a variety of slopes for beginners and experienced skiers. Intermediate and expert skiers and winter sports enthusiasts enjoy a wide selection of slopes, off-piste powder bowls and chutes.

Snowboarding Treble Cone

Treble Cone has a nice fun park, that includes a large number of boxes, rails and jumps. The terrain park is suitable for both beginners and advanced snowboarders and freestyle skiers. In addition to the terrain park there's a natural half-pipe and a large choice of powder snow descents.

Skischools Treble Cone

The Treble Cone Snowsports School offers both ski and snowboard lessons. There are special programs for children (the TC Cat Club and the Kitty Cat Club) and more advanced skiers or boarders can also follow high skill level courses. Even for professional skiers and snowboarders Treble Cone is known as a top training location. This name is reinforced by the presence of the Treble Cone Race Academy. Both the Austria and Norway national ski teams train here during off season.
