Ski resort Cardrona is situated close to Wanaka on South Island at about 1 hour drive from the city Queenstown in New-Zealand.
There is a number of apartments in and around the slopes of Cardrona, but most visitors stay in Wanaka and Queenstown. From both Wanaka and Queenstown, there are shuttle bus connections to to the area, but in practice it is easier with a rental car to travel to and from the ski area.

The Cardrona ski area covers a total of 345 hectares of slopes. Cardrona offers enough challenges for both beginners and experienced skiers. Real experts are often better off in the nearby ski resort of Treble Cone. For families with children Cardrona ski resort is an ideal ski holiday destination.
Cardrona ski resort has 3 different fun parks and a whopping 4 halfpipes. The largest and most challenging fun park Cardrona has is called Heavy Metal, this terrain park contains a lot of jumps and rails. This park is often the setting for internationally known freestyle events like the Burton NZ Open and the NZ Freeski Open. Besides the advanced freestyle park, there is the Park Play Area, for intermediate snowboarders and Gap Weston Park for beginners.
With 2 half pipes and 2 super pipes Cardrona is one of the ultimate freestyle destinations in New Zealand and perhaps even in the world.
The Cardrona Snow Sports School offers ski and snowboard lessons. For skiers classes are divided in six levels, for snowboarders in 4 levels.
