Tukino ski resort is located on the eastern flanks of Mt. Ruapehu in the North Island of New Zealand. The nearest town is Waiouru, located 36km away. The location is approximately in the middle of the North Island, with the city of Auckland in the north at about 4 hours away and the city of Wellington in the south at slightly more than 3 hours away. Tukino ski resort is a club resort run entirely by members of the Tukino Mountain Clubs Association. There are 3 different lodges where you can stay around Tukino resort: the Desert Alpine lodge, the Aorangi Lodge and the Tukino Alpine Sports Club lodge.

Slope information Tukino - Tukino

The ski area Tukino covers an area the size of 19 acres. The resort is situated on the eastern flank of Mt. Ruapehu largely sheltered from the wind that often comes in from the west. This ensures that the slopes pleasant to ski and board. The resort is not that large but it has enough interesting terrain for every level skier or snowboarder. The slopes are connected by two tow-lifts.

The snow sports school in Tukino offers both ski and snowboard lessons. The Ski and Snowboard Development Squad also holds sessions regularly where children and teenagers can follow classes (open to both club members and non members).
