Niseko ski resort is located on the North Island of Japan, Hokkaido. Niseko is located approximately 2.5 hours drive from Chitose Airport, an international airport with flights from for example Hong Kong (a flight of four hours).
The resort has three sections, each with its own village and gondola toward the ski slopes: Hirafu, Higashiyama (Niseko Village) and Annapuri. Every part of the resort has its own character.
Slope information Niseko - Niseko
The ski area of Niseko has three different ski areas that are interconnected; Annapuri, Niseko Village (Higashiyama) and Hirafu. Not connected, but part of the same ski pass is the area of Hanazono. Lastly, Niseko also includes a small separate ski that is situated a bit further away; Moiwa. In total, there are 644 skiable acres in this area, making it the largest ski resort in Japan.
There are several challenging places in Niseko for (freestyle) snowboarders. The beautiful terrain park in Hirafu has a large number of obstacles and jumps and a pretty well-groomed halfpipe. Niseko is also the host of an annual competition held for snowboarding pro's, the Toyota Big Air (usually in February).
Skischools Niseko
Hirafu, Niseko Village/Higashiyama and Annapuri all have fairly large ski schools that offer both ski and snowboard lessons.
