The modern ski village Sestrière is situated at the foot of Monte Banchetta in Piedmont in the Italian Alps on the border with France.
Sestriere is by far the most famous winter sports village of the ski area Via Lattea. Sestriere stretches across the subvillages Sises, Banchetta and Fraitève. Sestriere was also one of the locations of the Olympic Games in Turin of 2006 of course this is where the superG and slalom races for the men were held. As several executives from the Agnelli family more or less built Sestriere from the ground up, the village is not the most old-fashioned, or has the most attractive appearance, but the facilities in Sestriere are great, and the ski area is a clear winner in Italy!
