Ski holidays in Italy

Travel Report Sulden In February 2012, the Myslopes team was a guest in Sulden am Ortler (Solda) in Süd-Tirol in Italy.
Italy is not yet really discovered by mass tourism for winter sports. This is changing, however, extremely fast! Via a perfect airline connection, there are more and more visitors and holiday package tours to enjoy the Italian pistes.
The slopes are located in the Alps and Dolomites, and there are many huge mountains, including the Mont Blanc (at the border with France) and the Matterhorn (at the border with Switzerland). Italy is of course also the country of delicious food, beautiful old towns and culture. Besides skiing, you can make a day trip from your resort to cities like Turin, Milan or Verona.
The most famous resorts of Italy are Breuil-Cervina, and Via Lattea (including Sestriere, host of the Olympic Games in Turin). Dolomiti Superski is a real huge collection of skiresorts / ski areas Cortina d Ampezzo, Kronplatz, Alta Badia, Val Gardena, Val di Fassa-(Fassatal) , Arabba-Marmolada, Alta Pusteria (Hochpustertal), Valle di Fiemme (Flemstal), San Martino di Castrozza , and Civetta.. All in all, Italy is a great winter sports destination, especially just outside the main season when you have the slopes almost entirely for yourself!
