Ski holidays in Tochal

Ski resort Tochal is situated in the Alborz mountain range in Iran at about 30km from the Iranian capital Tehran. This makes Tochal the ski area closest to Tehran. The ski gondola that takes you up to the resort starts about 10km from one of the northern suburbs of Tehran. This cable car starts at about 1900 meters altitude and goes all the way up to 3700 meters. At the bottom of the gondola lies the luxurious Hotel Tochal which has 30 different hotel rooms.

The ski slopes of Tochal are connected by 4 different ski lifts. The great altitude of the ski resort (the top of Mt. Tochal is at 3964 meter altitude) places the ski resort as the fifth highest ski area worldwide. The altitude also ensures that the ski season is quite long, sometimes even stretching into May or June.
