Swabian Alb (Schwäbische Alb) is a low mountain located in southern Germany. The mountain is situated between the rivers Donau and Hegau and stretches approximately 200 km by 40 km. The Swabian Alb is named after the region of Swabia (sometimes called Swabian Jura.) The Swabian Alb includes the winter sports villages of Albstadt, Böhmenkirch, Engstingen, Gerstetten, Heidenheim, Laichingen, Messstetten, Münsingen, Römerstein, Sonnenbühl, Saint Johann-Upfingen, Westerheim, and Wiesensteig. Each village in the Swabian Alb is full of opportunities for winter sports. Although the villages usually only include small alpine ski areas, surrounding every resort there are approximately 50 km of cross-country tracks.
