Schmiedefeld am Rennsteig and Frauenwald am Rennsteig are two neighboring villages in the Thüringer Forest in Germany. For skiers and snowboarders there is a small ski area: the Schmiedefelder skilift am Eisenberg. The descent of Skilift am Eisenberg is about 800 meters long and especially popular with families with children. You will also find a sled run and a small skating rank. Finally, for cross-country skiers there is more than enough entertainment in this area. Around Schmiedefeld there are about 20km of cross-country tracks and Frauenwald has another network of 35km of cross-country slopes.
