Holiday village is located in Schmallenberg in Sauerland in Germany. Schmallenberg has its own small ski area: the Schmallenberger Hohenlift. This ski area has a few small ski runs and a ski school. The much larger ski area Winterberg is also close, where you have some more advanced descents.

Sauerland has a collection of smaller ski areas, many of which are accessible via the ski pass, the Ski Arena Card. This ski pass includes Skiliftkarussell Winterberg, Willingen, Postwiesen, Neuastenberg, Sahnehang, Züschen, and Skikarussell Altastenberg. With more than 60 lifts (including 6 chair lifts) that carry you to 50 km of ski runs, this ski area is not only suitable for beginners, but even advanced or expert skiers think this is a fun destination. The ski areas that lie in Sauerland include a total of about 100 km of ski slopes, if you add all small surrounding ski areas, and a dazzling 300 km of cross-country trails!
