Ski holidays in Sauerland

One of the most popular winter sports areas and most easily accessible from the Netherlands is Sauerland. Sauerland is mainly known for the famous ski holiday destination Winterberg. In addition to Winterberg, the Sauerland region includes the winter sports villages of Bestwig-Wasserfall, Bodefeld/Hunau, Bruchhausen/Brilon, Fahlenscheid, Gellinghausen, Grevenstein, Halberbracht/Hohe Bracht, Hesselbach/Wittgenstein, Kahler Asten, Lützel/Hilchenbach, Medebach, Niedersfeld, Schmallenberg, Sellinghausen, Wildewiese, Willingen, and Züschen/Homberg.

Sauerland has a collection of smaller ski areas, many of which are accessible via the ski pass, the Ski Arena Card. This ski pass includes Skiliftkarussell Winterberg, Willingen, Postwiesen, Neuastenberg, Sahnehang, Züschen, and Skikarussell Altastenberg. With more than 60 lifts (including 6 chair lifts) that carry you to 50 km of ski runs, this ski area is not only suitable for beginners, but even advanced or expert skiers think this is a fun destination. The ski areas that lie in Sauerland include a total of about 100 km of ski slopes, if you add all small surrounding ski areas, and a dazzling 300 km of cross-country trails!

In three areas, Winterberg, Willingen, and Bestwig-Wasserfallen, some extra attention is given to snowboarders. The big jumps in the Winterberg and Willingen fun parks are very beautiful.
