Ski holidays in Oberammergau

Ski resort Oberammergau is located in the Ammergauer Alps in Germany. Oberammergau is known for the Passionspiel performed here at Christmas. This performance has been organised from 1634 and all parts are played by the inhabitants of Oberammergau itself. Ski area Kolbe has 7km of ski slopes linked by 7 drag lifts and one chairlift. Besides Kolbe ski area, there are 3 small ski areas nearby: ski area Laber (2.5 km of ski runs), ski area Steckenberg in Unterammergau (10km of slopes) and Hörnle in Bad Kohlgrub (another 3.5 km).

Skischools and ski hire in Oberammergau

In the larger ski areas around Oberammergau there are 4 ski schools. The ski school in Oberammergau; Skischule Ammertal is located on the Bahnhofstrasse in the village. (skischule-ammertal.de).
