Ski holidays in Missen

The winter holiday village Missen is located in the Allgäuer Alps in Germany. Missen is situated in the triangle between Oberstdorf, Kempten and Lindau. Missen village has a small number of lifts with a descent in the immediate vicinity: the ski lift Oberwilhams in Wilhams, a ski lift in Sonnenallee Missen-Aigis, the ski lift Thalerhöhe in Missen-Wiederhofen, the Stixner Elevator in Missen, the Argental ski lift in Weitnau and the ski lift Wengen in Weitnau-Wengen. Besides this, there are also 30km of cross-country slopes around the village in Weitnau-Wengen and Missen-Wilhams.

The Allgäuer Alps are a collection of small and slightly larger ski resorts, totaling about 300 km of ski slopes. The ski areas are widely spread out. A number of well-known ski resorts, in particular, are recommended, including Fellhorn-Kanzelwand near Oberstdorf. This is one of the largest ski areas in Germany with nearly 50 km of ski runs. It actually consists of two main parts, Fellhorn / Kleinwalsertal in Austria, and Nebelhorn. In addition to the ski slopes in Oberstdorf, there are beautiful ski slopes around the Hörner (Hörnergruppe at Balderschwang, Bolsterlang, Obermaiselstein, Ofterschwang, and Fischen) and Oberjoch-Bad Hindelang ski areas.

Missen is a quiet village, with a few restaurants and cafes. Especially Brauereigasthof Schäffler is a bar-restaurant where they brew their own beer, which is a must!

Snowboarding in Missen

Snowboarders have some great options especially in Oberstdorf. Fellhorn Park and Crystal Ground - Snowpark Kleinwalsertal have much to offer in freestyle obstacles, jumps, and halfpipes. In addition, this area has two beautiful boarder crosses.

Skischools and ski hire in Missen

There are two ski schools in the Missen: the Skischule Ski & Sport Hörburger (near the ski lift Weitnau in Missen-Wiederhofen) and the Skischule Schmelzenbach (near Missen-Wilhams).
