Marienberg is located in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) in Germany. Marienberg has its small own downhill skiing area Skilift Galgenberg (Skiausleihe am Tourismus Zentrum Rätzteich). Marienberg has approximately 400 meters of downhill slopes and the ski lift of nearby Satzung also adds another 300m of descents. All in all an area suitable for (small) children. Cross-country skiing is possible in the extended region, with about 25km of cross country tracks around the Marienberg-Gelobtland and Loipeneinstieg Drei-Brüder-Höhe area.
