Snow village Gmund is situated on the Tegnersee in the Bayerische Voralpen in Germany. Gmund, together with neighboring village Ostin forms a ski area, where two villages have access to the Ski area Spitzingsee-Tegernsee. This Spitzingsee-Tegernsee ski area is one of the largest combined ski regions in Germany and is a combination of several small ski areas in Rottach-Egern, Kreuth, Bad Wiessee and Gmund (Skigebiet am Oedberg). Ski resort the Oedberg in Gmund is the nearest downhill you can take. You can ski until 10 PM in the evening. Cross country skiing is especially nice on the track of Hainzenhöhe, which runs from Steinberg to Holz.
