The Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) is located in Saxony in eastern Germany near the border with the Czech Republic. The Ore Mountains, as the name suggests, are a region filled with natural resources. Mining is an important industry here. The Ore Mountains include the winter villages of Carlsfeld, Eibenstock, Johanngeorgenstadt,, Klingenthal, Neudorf-Sehmatal, Oberwiesenthal, Schöneck, Altenberg, Augustusburg, Geising, Hermsdorf, Holzhau, Marienberg, and Sayda-Neuhausen.
