Ski holidays in Eifel
The Eifel is located in the northern mountains of Germany in the city-triangle Aachen, Koblenz, and Trier. The largest part of the Eifel is now declared a national park which has helped in keeping the landscape largely intact. Because of its location close to Maastricht the area is a popular destination for Dutch Nordic walkers, cross-country skiers, and people enjoying a day trip. The Eifel includes the big city Adenau with the famous mountain Hohe Acht (747 meters high and the highest point of the Eifel.) In addition to Adenau, the Eifel includes the winter sports villages of Daun, Hollerath / Udenbreth, Monschau, and Prüm. This area has a big attraction outside the winter season as well, the Formula 1 Nürnburgring circuit.
