Ski holidays in Black Forest
The Black Forest is a densely wooded mountain area in the south of Germany, situated in an imaginary triangle between Frankfurt, Strasbourg, and the Bodensee, where the Rhine originates. The valley of the Rhine forest also borders the Black Forest in the south and west. The highest point of the Black Forest, the Feldberg, sits at an altitude of almost 1,500 meters. The Feldberger ?liftverbund? (its larger ski area) is the largest collection of ski runs to more than 50 km of slopes in total! The Black Forest is made up of the villages and ski areas of Feldberg, Bernau, Hinterzarten-Breitnau, Muggenbrunn, Upper Ried, Schluchsee, Belchen, Schönau, Saint Blasien (with ski resort Menzenschwand), Titisee-Neustadt, Todtmoos, Todtnauberg, Triberg-Schonach-Schönwald, Baiersbronn, Freudenstadt, and Schwarzwald-Hochstrasse. The Schwarzwald-Hochstrasse is a route that runs from the top of Baden-Baden to Freudenstadt. Schwarzwald-Hochstrasse has an extensive network of cross-country trails, boasting more than 150 km of cross-country tracks.
