Augustusburg is located in the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains) in Germany. Augustusburg has a small private ski area with 5 (drag) skilifts and in total 400m of descent in height. The run down into the village is possible if there is enough snow, and can sometimes be up to 1.5 km long! You can ski here daily till 21:00, with a portion of the slope lit in the evenings. The slopes are not too difficult and mainly interesting for beginners and children. Augustusburg also has a nice toboggan run. Finally, Augustusburg is also known for its Jagdschloss (Hunting Castle) which overlooks the village.
