Ski holidays in Val Thorens

Val Thorens is the ski slopes-ceiling of Europe. As the highest resort in Europe, it has the absolute greatest snow report of the whole of Les Trois Vallées. With an altitude of 2300 meters the resort is certain of snow and seems almost everything in the village has been made for winter sports and skiing. You can ski to your home at almost every accommodation and cars are not allowed in the centre of the village.

If you are dreaming of endless slopes, of another direction to ski every day, or of more than 600 km of slopes within one area, then you are at the right place in Les Trois Vallees. Courchevel and La Tania are well fit for both beginners and experts. The flank of the Roc Merlet (2734 m high) has a number of very nice ski slopes. Lifts such as in Meribel take you from down in the valley, up to the highest peaks, such as the Roc de Fer and Mont Vallon after which you can make extremely long descents without having to stop. The new Roc Des Trois Marches gondola connects Meribel with Les Menuires and Val Thorens. You can also find great runs at the top of La Masse close to Les Menuires. The black ski-run Marielle Goitschel, named after one of the local Olympic champions, it is very challenging. In Val Thorens, you will really appreciate the cable car to Cîme Caron, the highest point in the three valleys. At the top this has one of the most spectacular views you will ever see anywhere in the world. The weather can change rapidly at the top of this mountain, so make sure you are dressed well, even if it appears to be warm and sunny.

Besides the traditional apres-ski during the skiing holidays, is also the toboggan runway something that everyone should try! Nightlife used to be rather simple in the past, but this has developed with a number of slope-side bars, and discos in the village. Large groups of young people come here every season not only to ski but also to enjoy the nightlife.

Snowboarding in Val Thorens

Apart from the snow park in Val Thorens (great!), there is a multitude of snow parks in the area Les Trois Vallees. The most beautiful parks are located in Les Menuires, Meribel-Mottaret and Meribel. At the top of the Ariondaz gondola, you can start the first few days with your first lessons as a snowboarder.
