Slope information Les Portes du Soleil - Montriond
The ski resort of Portes du Soleil is a collection of 14 destinations in the Haute Savoie spread across France and Switzerland and linked together. The winter sports area is enormous, and a veritable dream for the demanding ski fan and beginner skier! Plaine Dranse, perhaps the most beautiful slopes of the area, starting from Avoriaz, is easily accessible. This valley has plenty to offer to any skier and snowboarder of every skill-level. Beginners are often attracted to the area around Le Pleney which is directly accessible by ski-tram or cabin lift. One of the most challenging slopes can be found around the famous Col de Joux Plane, where beautiful long black slopes go all the way down into the valley. In the Swiss part there is the Mur at Chavanette (towards Avoriaz), which is very challenging.

The off-piste runs from the Col du Fornet are great, and offer almost all year round an abundance of powder. Snowboarders that like to descend past the tree lines can enjoy beautiful areas in the Les Gets neighborhood.
