One of the eight French top ski holiday destinations that are part of the ski area Les Trois Vallees, Brides-les-Bains. Brides-les-Bains is known as the "female" destination. Lifts such as in Meribel take you from down in the valley, up to the highest peaks, such as the Roc de Fer and Mont Vallon after which you can make extremely long descents without having to stop. The new Roc Des Trois Marches gondola connects Meribel with Les Menuires and Val Thorens. You can also find great runs at the top of La Masse close to Les Menuires. The black ski-run Marielle Goitschel, named after one of the local Olympic champions, it is very challenging. In Val Thorens, you will really appreciate the cable car to Cîme Caron, the highest point in the three valleys. At the top this has one of the most spectacular views you will ever see anywhere in the world. The weather can change rapidly at the top of this mountain, so make sure you are dressed well, even if it appears to be warm and sunny.
