Ski holidays in Czech Republic
Skiing in the Czech Republic is popular! With more and more winter sports enthusiasts going to ski in the Czech Republic each year, it is a growing winter sport country. The skiing areas are mainly located in Moravia and Bohemia, with the majority in the so-called Giant Mountains.
The Czech Giant Mountains are located in a national park (Karkonosze National Park) and are also the home of the most famous skiing area in Czech Republic: Harrachov, Pec Pod Snezkou, Cerna Hora-Janszke Lanske, Rokytnice nad Jizerou, Spicak-Zelezna Ruda and the best known: Spindleruv Mlyn.
Because of the small size of the skiing resorts, Czech Republic is a low budget destination and especially popular with families and children. Advanced skiers have a little less room to work with, and are found mainly in Spindleruv Mlyn, a nice destination. Do not let the low level of the Czech ski areas stop you from going. It may seem low with altitudes between 600-1700 meters, but due to the favourable location, the snow is perfect almost the entire season. So: Czech Republic is a nice destination for a skiing holiday with the family, and still very affordable too!
