Ski holidays in Cerro Mirador

Cerro Mirador ski resort is situated in the Magallanes National Reserve in Chile. Cerro Mirador is the southernmost ski area in the world. The city of Punta Arenas, bordering the Strait of Maggalan is located just 5km away. This waterway seperates Patagonia to the north and Tierra del Fuego to the south. From the center of Punta Arenas its a 25 minutes drive to the foot of the ski resort. The ski season runs from June to October.

The ski area is run by the Andino Ski Club . Cerra Mirador is especially popular for its stunning views of Punta Arenas, Tierra del Fuego and the Strait of Magellan. The ski area is not particularly special, with a pair of red, blue and green runs which are connected by a double chair lift and a drag lift.

Skischools Cerro Mirador

The Cerro Mirador ski school (Escuela de Ski) offers both ski and snowboard lessons. There is also a special section of the ski school for children (Miniescuala de Ski). The first instructors came to the area around 1965, part of the Patgonia Escuela de Ski from Bariloche in Argentina.
