Mount Washington ski area is located in perhaps one of the craziest places for a ski resort: an island! Mount Washington is located on Vancouver Island in the middle of Strathcona Provincial Park on the west coast of British Columbia in Canada. There are two airports on Vancouver Island: Comox Airport (YQQ) and Campbell River Airport (YBL), this connects the ski resort to nearby Vancouver or for example, Calgary or Edmonton. Mount Washington ski resort has a wide range of accommodation directly next to the slope. So you can enjoy ski-in ski-out each morning and evening.

The ski slopes of Mount Washington offer about 60 different ski runs, which are covered the whole season with Canadian powder snow. (The snow fall reaches 10 meters every year here) The ski season here lasts from mid-December till half/end April. On each Thursday, Friday or Saturday you can also go night-skiing in Mount Washington!

Snowboarding Mount Washington

For snowboarders, there are two fun parks in Mount Washington: The Stomping Ground and Green Terrain Park. The last one, this Green Terrain Park is more suitable for beginners. The Stomping ground is a so-called black diamond experts-only park where you need to have some serious experience.

Skischools Mount Washington

Beginners, advanced and experts can take classes to better learn to ski or snowboard at the Mount Washington Snow School. For children there is the Burton Learn to Ride Method Center in Mount Washington, a sponsored part of the ski school teaches the children step by step to find their way around the ski slopes.
