Bulgaria is an emerging ski destination! An incredible amount has been invested and developed in the Bulgarian mountains over the past years, resulting in ever more attractive ski runs, better ski lifts, accommodation and entertainment as a result! Snow sports and ski holiday promotion is a government priority in Bulgaria, indeed! Where else are ski teachers university trained, and do they often speak more than 3 languages! Because the prices have not reached Western levels here yet, and an increasing number of low-cost airlines fly to Sofia, Bulgaria is a great choice for people with a lower budget. The two well-known ski resorts in Bulgaria are Bansko (Pirin mountain) and Borovets (Rilage Mountains). Up and coming ski resorts are Pamporovo (Rodope mountains) and Vitosha (Vitosha Mountain).
