On top of the Stubaier Alps, in Tyrol is the namesake of this part of the Austrian mountains, Stubai, with the Stubaier glacier. With ski slopes that run from 1750 - 3333m is like a perfect snow report is guaranteed. The highest peak of the Stubai glacier is the 'Zuckerhütl' at 3507m.

The sloping landscape is most suitable for hiking and cross-country skiing. For skiers, the area around the Stubaier Glacier is particularly interesting. You will find easy to intermediate slopes. Overall, the slopes are very wide and well constructed and relatively quiet, a wonderful relaxed atmosphere characterizes your holiday. Apart from the Stubaier Glacier, you can find a number of other ski areas in the Stubaital: ski area Schlick 2000, ski resort Elfer (close to Neustift) and the ski slopes of Serles (next to Mieders and Fulpmes).

Apres ski in Stubai

The Eissee-Schirmbar at the height of the Stubaier glacier is enormously busy, from lunch to end of the day. Here the giant beermugs and apres-ski songs start to fly around from early in the afternoon! In Stubai the apres-ski is still limited hoewever, because of the high altitude, but this is more than made up by the fun you have in nearby Neustift and Fulpmes.

Snowboarders are especially into this area to carve beautiful turns on the broad quiet slopes. In total there are 2 halfpipes, 2 boardercrosses and 2 fun parks in the Stubaier Alps. Maybe you would not expect it, but some of Austrian best snowboard champs come from this area.
