The ski resort Ischgl is located in the Silvretta Arena (Paznauntal) in Tyrol. With expensive shops, modern lifts and expanded apres-ski, this skiing destination is very popular. Even many celebrities are spotted here. Ischgl is one of the more expensive winter sports areas of Austria, with beautiful hotels, a car-free city-center and a cozy atmosphere. As is traditionally the case, the ski season is opened in Ischgl already in November and closed in April. There are often world famous artists that help open and close the season with the so-called op of the mountain concert, a fantastic party! In Ischgl, 1 of the 3 lifts will bring you to the large ski area Silvretta Ski Arena (more than 230 kilometers). Kappl, See and Galtür, each have their own small ski area. The distance between the villages is quite small, so if you're in one of the smaller villages it is easy to go ski in the larger ski area. If you like off-piste skiing, you can take a snowcat with your guide you to the Piz Val Gronda of the Heidelberger-hutte, from where you can enjoy wonderful untouched slopes.

The possibilities for apres-ski in Ischgl are very extensive. For the real Austrian apres-ski, you certainly have to pay a visit to the Kuhstall, at the bottom of the Silvretta Seilbahn in the middle of the village! But the buzzing nightlife in Ischgl has everything from a fancy nightclub to a cigars-cocktail bar. Something for everyone. In general, there are a lot of men in Ischgl on skiing holidays, so be careful women! Ischgl is one of those places that always score well in German, Dutch and English Apres-ski top tens.

Snowboarders can enjoy the largest snow park of Europe. It has 30 obstacles for each level. Also take a look at the halfpipe where the Tube world championships are held.

Skischools and ski hire in Ischgl

In Ischgl there is 1 enormous ski school with more than 100 ski instructors. Naturally, in such a winter sports school, there are also English lessons.
