In Hoch-Montafon, in the Vorarlberg region is the ski holiday village Gaschurn. Today the area also known as AlpenSZENE Montafon. Gaschurn and the nearby village Partenen (approximately 3km) combined form the ski resort Silvretta Nova, but from these slopes the ski resorts around the Gargellen, St. Gallenkirch-Gortipohl, Gom, and Hochjoch Silbertal are also easy to reach. Besides skiing and snowboarding, the area is very popular with tour skiers, cross-country skiers and sledding in the Silvretta Nova area, on a toboggan run of more than 5.5 km long! The peaceful village is not yet discovered by the big tourist boom, and sunday is the only day that attracts somewhat bigger crowds as the day trippers can be found on the ski slopes and in Gaschurn village. Because of the relatively good quality-price ratio, the AlpenSZENE Montafon area is also very popular with families with children.

In addition to the more than 200 kilometres of ski runs, the area also offers more than 100 kilometres of cross-country runs Because most of the Montafon area is fairly high (above 1200 meters), you can be pretty sure to have good snow conditions. Montafon offers a very diverse range of ski slopes in the 7 parts, which combined form the Montafon ski area: the Silvretta Nova ski area, Gargellen-Purchase Mountain ski resort, ski resort Hochjoch, Golm ski area, Grabs ski slopes, Kristanna Mountain ski area and the Silvretta Nielerhohe ski resort.

For snowboarders Montafon offers more than enough opportunities. Apart from the specific provisions such as a halfpipe (100 meters long), 2 funparks and boardercross, snowboard tours are also organized throughout Montafon.

Skischools and ski hire in Gaschurn

There are 2 ski and snowboard schools with about 75 ski instructors in total. The Ski and Snowboard School Silvretta Nova is the biggest one in Gaschurn.
