Ski holidays in Forstau

In the middle of the Dachstein Tauern region of Styria, The ski hliday village Forstau lies around the slopes of the Fageralm Bergbahnen. Forstau belongs to the ski resort of Sportwelt Amade. (The collected areas of Salzburg Sports, Schladming, Dachstein Tauern, Gastein, Hochkönig's and Winterreich Großarltal.) Even on the 'own' Fageralm, next to the Forstau, it offers enough fun slopes for the start of a skiing career.

There is a wide and diverse range of slopes. (More than 150 kilometers), but Dachstein Tauern is best known for the ultimate cross-country run places. The cross-country ski area covers more than 350 kilometers.

Apres ski in Forstau

This is a quiet village for a relaxing skiing holiday, with some restaurants and inns where you can come to yourself after a day of skiing. Restaurant Gewürzmühle is known for its local specialties. Also take a trip with one of the many horse sleds (a tour can sometimes take more than 2 hours, including evenings!)

Snowboarding in Forstau

In this area there are no less than 5 Funparks. In particular, the area in the Dachstein Glacier is perfect for freeriding and Big Carving. There is a huge halfpipe in the Galsterbergalm, a boardercross and a Funpark. Snowboarders can count on hours and hours of good fun.

Skischools and ski hire in Forstau

The ski school of Forstau is Schischule Resch with about 16 ski instructors for all types of winter sports. From carving, snowboarding, and telemark skiing - and even if you are already very good, they can go with you on Ski Safari through the tremendous field of Ski Amadè! (schischule-resch.at)
