Great location for autumn and late spring/early summer skiing with excellent ski lift system and good restaurants. It can be quite cold on the upper slopes with the possibility that the ski lifts to the top are shut down in extreme weather but given the height, 3000 metres +, that is understandable. Conditions can sometimes be challenging if the wind is blowing and temperatures are low but it is still a great experience.I have skied Hintertux in the months of January, April,May, October and November and am greatly looking forward to my trip this October. For an intermediate skier such as my myself, my first trip to the Hintertux glacier in October of 2008 was an awesome experience and a one that has brought me back there again and again.

I went skiing on Hintertux Glacier for 4 days in January. The skiing in this high altitude area is superb, not only is there a good chance of sun and are the views spectular, but the quality of snow is great. The slopes are maintained not only during the evening but throughout the day, so slope conditions are really good. I will be back on the Hintertux this winter.
