Ski holidays in Rauris

In Salzburg, on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park is the ski holiday village Rauris. Rauris, in the bottom Rauristal - often called the Golden Valley - has a rich history thanks to its small gold mines that are now mostly closed. The ski resort, despite its small size, is challenging enough for advanced skiers, too thanks to the relatively many steep slopes. The ski area is especially popular with families with children. The village of Rauris is charming and has a large number of nice restaurants and cafes. The traditional dog sled rides are always held in early March. If you come by, that?s something you should not miss!

Slope information Rauris - Rauris

The slopes on the Rauris Hochalmbahnen have perfect snow conditions thanks to the high altitude of most of the slopes (over 2000m). Without any waiting, the Gipfelbahn cable-cart takes you to the top of the area, where the beautiful red (and partial black) slopes can take you back to the valley. Most of the runs located on top of the mountain are blue and very suitable for children. Nice red ski runs are the Kreuzboden and Waldalm slopes. The special downhill tobogganing slope is recommended for the whole family.

Snowboarding Rauris

For snowboarders, there is a small fun park down in the valley at the ski school with a natural halfpipe, some quarterpipes and a number of small jumps.

Skischools Rauris

There are 2 ski schools in the Rauristal ski resort, which are both around the same size. In total, the ski area has about 55 ski instructors (ski.co.at and ski-maier.at).
