Ski holidays in Perisher

Perisher Ski Area is located approximately 35km from the town of Jindabyne in New South Wales in Australia. Perisher ski resort is the largest ski area in Australia, and has some of the best snow conditions in the country. The ski resort has accommodation spread over Perisher Village, Kosciuszko Road, Alpine Way, Blue Cow, Smiggins Holes, Guthega and nearby Jindabyne. The region is linked by a ski train (the Skitube Alpine Railway). The ski area is easily accessible, with both Sydney and Melbourne about 5 hours drive away. Canberra (nearest international airport) is 2.5 hours away and Cooma (with a regional airport) is just over one hour away.

The Perisher ski area consists of four separate ski resorts with good snow conditions are interconnected. Besides Perisher the area is combined with Blue Cow, Smiggins Holes and Guthega. In total, the ski area about 3076 ski-able acres (1245 hectares) that are connected by 47 different ski lifts. The longest ski run of the area is 3km. Night skiing is possible in Perisher on both on Tuesday and on Saturday.

Snowboarding Perisher

Perisher has 4 different fun parks, making the area well suited for freestyle snowboarders/skiers. Beside these funparks, Perisher also boasts a Superipe and a boarder cross.

Skischools Perisher

The Perisher Snowsports School offers both ski and snowboard lessons. The Snowsports school also has special programs for children and the Perisher Academy, for ski instructors that would like to become officially accredited by the Australian ski associations. The Perisher Snowsports School has three different co-locations, one at Front Valley in Perisher, one at Smiggins and one at Blue Cow.
