Ski holidays in Falls Creek

Falls Creek ski resort is situated just above the Kiewa Valley in the North East of Victoria in Australia. Mount Bogong, with 1986 meters the highest mountain in Victoria is close to the ski area. Falls Creek is approximately 4.5 hours drive from Melbourne, and the nearest airport; Albury / Wodonga (with connections to Sydney and Melbourne) is 120km away. Falls Creek is a so-called ski-in ski-out resort, where a large number of lodges and hotels are situated right next to the ski slopes.

The ski resort of Falls Creek ski resort stretches over a total of 450 hectares. Falls Creek clearly focuses on beginning skiers, with a great number of slopes near the village for skiers and snowboarders who are taking their first strides. Intermediate and even advanced will also find plenty of challenge in Falls Creek however! Off piste there are some beautiful runs that are relatively deserted. Besides skiing and snowboarding Falls Creek is also known for its cross-country skiing possibilities. The resort has a total of 65km of prepared cross country trails, and much more semi-prepared ground. Falls Creek is known for its international cross-country skiing race, the Kangaroo Hoppet, a race which is 21 or 42 km in length and that is part of the World Loppet circuit.

Snowboarding Falls Creek

There is a Beginner Park at Falls Creek (at the Drover's Dream lift) and another fun park for more advanced snowboarders; Ruined Castle. Ruined Castle is one of the most extensive fun parks in the whole of Australia. Amongst others, Ruined Castle includes a large number of jumps, rails, obstacles and half pipe.

Skischools Falls Creek

Falls Creek Snowsports School offers ski and snowboard lessons. There are special programs in Falls Creek for Kids (Boomers on Groomer) and ladies (Mim Sodergren Women?s Program).
