Selwyn Snowfields ski area is particularly suitable for novice skiers. The ski area is not not that big with a total of 45 hectares (111 acres) and mainly green and blue ski slopes of which 80% is fully equipped with snow cannons. The longest run is about 3km. The Selwyn Snowfields area also has a special snowtubing and toboggan slope.

There are no special facilities for freestyle snowboarders in Selwyn Snowfields.
